Khader was born on Christmas day in 1948, in a village named Poovachal in the present-day Thiruvananthapuram district.His original name is Muhammed Abdul Khader. His parents are Aboobacker Pillai and Rabiyathul Adabiya Beevi.

The last rites will be performed on Tuesday at Poovachal Juna Masjid. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has condoled his death. “His demise is a great loss to the Malayalam film industry,” he said in his condolence message.
